The process
Consult. Concept. Craft. Install.
2 weeks
01. Consult
We meet in the space, or in the showroom. We listen, measure and photograph. Two weeks, and you hold a written brief.
3 weeks
02. Concept
Drawings, a material board and a scale model where it helps. One round of revisions, then a signed concept. Three weeks.
8–14 weeks
03. Craft
The piece is made in our workshop by the same hands throughout. You are welcome to visit while it takes shape. Eight to fourteen weeks, by material.
1 week
04. Install
We deliver, place and finish on site. Nothing leaves until it sits right. One week, and the room is yours.
Materials library
The Materials Library
Every material we work in, from the quarry to the loom. Samples are sent on request.
Stone04
Calacatta Marble
Quarried above Carrara, veined in grey and gold. Honed matt, it softens with each year.
Nero Marquina
Black Spanish marble from Markina, cut with white. Polished, it deepens as the years pass.
Roman Travertine
Roman stone, pitted by ancient hot springs. Filled and honed, it warms with use.
Honey Onyx
Translucent amber stone, sourced from Iran. Backlit or polished, it glows and never fades.
Metal03
Patinated Brass
Solid brass, darkened by hand in our workshop. Left unsealed, it records every touch.
Brushed Brass
Solid brass, brushed to a soft satin. Waxed, it mellows slowly toward gold.
Blackened Steel
Mild steel, blackened by heat and oil. Waxed each year, it holds its depth.
Wood04
American Walnut
Pennsylvania walnut, chosen for cathedral grain. Oiled, it lightens to a warm honey.
Smoked Oak
European oak, fumed with ammonia for weeks. Oiled, it settles into a quiet grey-brown.
Ebonised Ash
European ash, stained black through the grain. Waxed, the figure surfaces over time.
Pale Oak
Quarter-sawn oak, kept close to its natural colour. Soaped, it stays pale for decades.
Textile04
Mohair Velvet
Angora mohair, woven in Belgium on old looms. The pile flattens where you sit, then recovers.
Bouclé
Looped wool yarn, woven for depth and warmth. It pills lightly at first, then settles.
Full-grain Leather
Full-grain hide, aniline dyed and never sanded. It scars, darkens and improves every year.
Hand-knotted Wool and Silk
Hand-knotted in Lahore, a wool ground with silk. The silk gains lustre as the wool wears in.
Glass01
Smoked Glass
Float glass, tinted bronze-grey through the body. Toughened, it stays clear and never yellows.
Lacquer02
Piano Lacquer
12 coats of lacquer, hand-rubbed between each. Polished, it holds a mirror for decades.
Ivory Lacquer
Warm white lacquer, sprayed and rubbed to satin. It holds its colour and does not yellow.
