A travertine slab on a brass ring base.
Made to order
A low oval table in Roman travertine. The top is 4 cm thick. A patinated brass ring carries it. An onyx inlay marks the centre.
The stone is filled and honed. The ring is rolled from solid bar. The onyx is set flush by hand. Each top is chosen from the block.
It sits between two sofas. It takes books and a bowl. It is heavier than it looks.

Materials and finishes
- Roman stone, pitted by ancient hot springs. Filled and honed, it warms with use.
- Solid brass, darkened by hand in our workshop. Left unsealed, it records every touch.
- Translucent amber stone, sourced from Iran. Backlit or polished, it glows and never fades.
