A writing desk in pale oak and linen.

A writing desk with a still surface. The top is pale oak, oiled and matt. A leather inlay sits flush with the timber. Two shallow drawers close on brass.
The legs are turned from solid oak. Drawer fronts are finished in ivory lacquer. Cable ports are hidden in the rear apron. Nothing interrupts the line.
It faces a window well. It works as a dressing table too. A desk for letters, not screens.

Materials and finishes
- Quarter-sawn oak, kept close to its natural colour. Soaped, it stays pale for decades.
- Warm white lacquer, sprayed and rubbed to satin. It holds its colour and does not yellow.
- Full-grain hide, aniline dyed and never sanded. It scars, darkens and improves every year.
- Solid brass, brushed to a soft satin. Waxed, it mellows slowly toward gold.
