Marina Apartment

A 3-bedroom apartment in Dubai Marina. Made in Lahore, delivered to the 40th floor.

The brief

The clients are a Karachi family. Dubai is their second base. 2 months a year, then guests. The apartment had never been lived in. White marble, white walls, white glare.

The tower is 40 floors of glass. The marina lies below, the Gulf beyond. Afternoon sun comes in hard and low. Everything reflective became a mirror. Nothing felt still.

The constraint was distance. Every piece is made in our Lahore workshop. It ships by sea and clears Jebel Ali. Then it rides a service lift. Lift dimensions fixed the size of every crate. Nothing could be adjusted on the 40th floor.

The approach

We took the white down to ivory. Walls in warm lime wash. Sheer wool curtains soften the glass. Floors were overlaid with pale oak. The apartment stopped shouting.

The Ivory sectional fills the main room. Bouclé on a pale oak base, 320 cm long. An Atlas centre table sits inside its curve. The Ivory wardrobe lines the master suite. A Meridian console and mirror hold the entry. Every piece is calm and low.

Each crate was built to the lift, minus 5 cm. The sectional came in 3 modules. Our team flew in and assembled on site. 2 days, no visible joins. The clients arrived the following week.
